As homeowners visit our showroom to make choices for their upcoming kitchen renovations, we’re seeing some throwback trends. As the saying goes, what’s old is new again. We’re seeing a trend back to classic looks for color, style and design in the kitchen.

  1. Color - Homeowners are moving away from the stark look of an all-white or pale grey color scheme. The trend is moving toward blues and greens. And beige tones are back! Natural stones and quartz in rich blues and greens are very popular as well as light colored stones with gorgeous blue and green veining. Natural wood is also making a reappearance in cabinets. The general trend for homeowners that we’re seeing is a move away from bold dramatic colors in countertops and cabinets and, instead, the vibrant colors are coming in as accents – making it easier to love your kitchen colors for longer while switching out accents to keep on trend.
  2. Style - In addition to the return of natural wood cabinets, we’re seeing cabinet styles shift away from intricate fronts or industrial starkness back to sleek, shaker-style cabinets – a simple, timeless design that suits many styles. These simpler styles are easy on the eye and easy to keep clean. Rich wood tones – light and dark – are making their mark as are cabinets made from sustainable woods.
  3. Design - Homeowners have been rethinking some design trends. Open shelving is eye catching, but in a busy home it can sometimes become cluttered and unappealing, so some homeowners are opting to avoid open shelving.
