Four Kitchen Design Trends on the Rise
As the holidays approach and 2022 winds down, designers are looking to the year ahead, and we’re seeing some fresh takes on what is in store for kitchen designs in 2023.
Here are four emerging kitchen design trends
1. Smart Technology
Smart technology in our homes has been on the rise for some years, now. In 2023, technology is going to take a bigger step into our kitchens to save you time and energy. Energy efficient appliances will remain along with the addition of appliances that are connected to your home wi-fi network, allowing you to control them with your smart phone or your voice.
2. Warm Colors
We’ve been talking a lot in 2022 about the return of color. We’ve seen blues, greens and golds reappear in beautiful ways. Colors are back in a big way and we’re seeing this trend continue with a move toward warm wood tones in cabinetry – these are appearing in both light and dark wood tones.
3. Butler’s Pantries
A new must-have in kitchen redesign is a working pantry. Some of us remember our grandmother’s pantry off the kitchen – often the room where the real work of cooking was done. And now, homeowners are tucking the pantry away behind a door. It looks like a cabinet or sliding door but when opened it reveals this special space off the kitchen. It’s a fun reveal to guests and a convenient spot for those heavily used small appliances or a coffee bar.
4. Slab Backsplashes
We’re seeing a trend for using slabs for backsplashes instead of tile. This creates a striking aesthetic with the countertop and backsplash made of the same material. The look is sleek and uniform, and also easy to clean. Some homeowners even opt to forgo upper cabinets in order to show off the beautiful stone slabs.
As you plan your new kitchen, these trends can inspire you with great ideas for making your kitchen the uniquely you space you want it to be.
